Man Utd resist Real Madrid's transfer pursuit for Paul Pogba - Solskjaer lists target for Summer

Real Madrid are eager to sign new players following their poor performance at the UCL after being knocked out by ajax (4 - 1) and their current position on the league table (3rd place - 54points on Match day 28).

Pogba is one of several names who has been heavily linked with joining Real Madrid, when they launch a summer rebuild under returning boss Zinedine Zidane.

The United midfielder fuelled those rumours by admitting “Real Madrid is a dream for anyone”, during a press conference last week whilst on international duty.
Manchester United will resist any move for Paul Pogba this summer, insisting the £89million midfielder is not for sale at any price.

Pogba last week revealed it would be a dream to play under Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid, with the Spanish giants believed to be keen to take him to the Bernabeu.
But United, who rejected advances from Barcelona last summer and plan to open talks over a new contract with the Frenchman, are adamant he’s going nowhere.
The 25-year-old still has two years to run on his current deal and the option of a further 12 months, giving United time to resolve David de Gea’s future before opening negotiations with his controversial agent Mino Raiola.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made Pogba pivotal to his Old Trafford revival.
The Norwegian is close to being confirmed as United’s permanent manager and sees the World Cup winner as one of the key players he plans to build his side around – along with Marcus Rashford, who has also been linked with a move to Spain with Barca.
Standard Sport revealed how United had cooled interest in Barca’s Ivan Rakitic because they believed Pogba was now settled at Old Trafford after his fractious relationship with Jose Mourinho.

Speaking before France’s Euro 2020 qualifiers against Moldova and Iceland, he told reporters: “Like I’ve always said, Real Madrid is a dream for anyone, it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world,

“There is also Zidane as a coach and it’s a dream for anybody who likes football. For now, I’m at Manchester. We don't know what the future holds. I'm at Manchester and I’m happy.”

Solskjaer has inspired Pogba’s finest form in the red of United after just three months working together.
Even if Ed Woodward reluctantly decided to cash in on his record signing, he would be confident of making a considerable profit on his prize asset.

But United sources insist that is not in their thinking ahead of a summer when they plan to spend heavily again.

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is a primary target, along with Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes and Napoli centre back Kalidou Koulibaly.

It's also understood United will block any moves for Rashford, who they are currently in negotiations with over a contract extension.

Real Madrid are forced to scout for another top notch midfielder.
